About the event

As wildland-urban interface (WUI) fires become increasingly frequent and destructive in communities around the world, from Maui, Los Angeles and Spokane to Southern Europe, Canada, and beyond, there is a growing need for rapid research to capture time-sensitive data about environmental exposures, system disruptions, and early health effects. Join the PHEER Network and CAFE RCC on November 20 for a 90-minute webinar exploring how researchers can rapidly launch and sustain research projects in the immediate aftermath of large wildfire disasters. The discussion will highlight lessons learned from research efforts across different stages of the research life cycle, including study design, community engagement, exposure assessment, data collection, partnership building, funding, and translating findings into meaningful action for affected communities.

Hear from leading researchers including Drs. Ruben Juarez and Alika Maunakea of the Maui Wildfire Exposure Study, Dr. Kari Nadeau of the LA Fire Health Study, and Dr. Sarah Matousek of the Spokane…
